PAIN OF MY COUNTRY

My country, her problems never begin,
Before, before she had joyful songs singing,
Now, underneath the radiant fall,
Independence seems so far and small.

Who is our leader?
Who is our concern?

Pupils cry in the forest,
Lives are suffering, People are in pain,
The country where NYSC serves,
Where government and bandits thrive.

Let us make her lively,
Rebuilding our Zion walls.
Let us scatter and unite much better,
And make our nation stronger together.

No more travellers should be in danger,
No more innocent lives should disappear.
We sit on fences,
Cause adversary in our anniversary.
Government should have found a remedy
To our tragedy.

Let banditry be banished from our country,
They have broken our glass of sovereignty,
They are a bull in a china shop,
We are as awkward as a cow on roller skates,
Our government is shy as a dog, But busy as a beaver.

Justice, stop backing up the wrong horse.
Let sovereignty return to the people,
And let the pain of our country be gone.
