When news reaches, that a dear one dies,
you’ll pause. Most likely, you’ll stand up,
sit down, perhaps laugh loudly and stand up again…you’ll do many things.
You’ll find yourself at the scene if possible, might touch your dear one,
you’ll call their names, you won’t recall the number of times you do,
they’ll tell you it can’t be helped, you won’t agree.
You’ll tell them your dear one will wake up.
You’ll search desperately for the God
you never really listened to. You’ll remember
he had raised many dead in the past or so they say.
You’ll say you have faith, when you’re really just lost.
Few days or maybe weeks later,
you’d have learnt to move on.
You’ll either believe in some paradise, where you’ll
meet your dear one again or dispose the entire idea of God’s existence.
