I woke up this morning and felt so tired. I tried to think about what I had done the previous night that could have made me feel that way, but I couldn’t find anything, as I had spent most of the day at home.
Then I remembered!
I was so busy and occupied in my dream that I could literally feel the impact on my physical body. Without sharing the full details of the dream, I’ll address the part where I was frantically searching for someone. At some point, I had to climb hills where necessary and walk long distances too.
Now, my point won’t really be centred on the fatigue I felt. It’s rather the fact that I was busy doing something somewhere I felt conscious of, only to wake up and find myself where I had slept the previous night!
Anytime I think about the concept of dreams, I just keep wondering what’s actually happening. In some of the articles I published earlier, I concluded at some point that life is full of mysteries we might spend our lifetime trying to figure out and still not understand.
Because how can you explain to me that our conscious body (at least, that’s how we understand it) would sleep in this particular dimension as we know it, then wake up in what feels like another dimension? The most interesting part is the fact that we experience consciousness over there too. Otherwise, we wouldn’t even know we’d been anywhere when we wake up in this dimension.
Moreover, while we are in the dream world, we don’t even know we are dreaming. We act, we feel, we react, we do. We just know we exist. But the most twisted part is that we wake up here in this dimension and realise, “Oh, it was all a dream!” Yet, when we were in that dream, we couldn’t tell it was a dream.
Now, one of my major questions is: what if the current dimension we are in is also a dream?
I mean, since we couldn’t tell while we were in that dream that it was a dream, what makes us believe this current one, the one in which you’re reading this write-up, isn’t a dream too? The ‘present us’ that’s waking up to go to school, prepare for work, call a friend, chase money, and maybe sometimes, when someone upsets us, we just want to strangle them… haha, just kidding. But I’m sure you get the point.
And as if all this isn’t enough, speaking from personal observation, we don’t always experience the same dream twice with exactly the same setting, concept or feeling. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying we can’t have recurring dreams or dreams with similar messages and visual settings. I’m addressing the subjective experience of these scenes, the way they feel to us.
Therefore, it’s almost as though there are numerous dimensions or planes of reality out there, waiting for us in this dimension to fall asleep so we can appear over there. Almost every night!
Indeed, life is full of mysteries!
