We are Free birds but the Sky is Leased

Slaves

Once, they put us in cages. Today, we are not caged birds; we are free birds. Yet, somehow, the sky is leased.

Perhaps freedom came, but not without a price.

We have wings now. We have learned to fly.

But who owns the sky we fly in?

History is not always behind us. Sometimes, it is the shadow beneath our wings.

This pictures might portray the past but this is exactly how our economy and identity is presently.

Golds are mined in South Africa but the price is determined in Europe. Now we are being colonized to the point that my expressions here have to carry their identity – English.

Woe!

To our darker brothers who betrayed us!!

To the Europeans who discovered us and called us AFRICA, named our rivers their own, stole our resources, killed our leaders and put theirs.

Woe!

To the Europeans who came in the name of Christianity to wage slavery into Africa!!
