Being an adult that knows how to balance things and multitasks starts from now.
As a student, the ability to be academically diligent and still not missing out in other aspects of life will be greatly advantageous later as an adult.
We may call it focus, which is true, but, if that’s the only thing a student can do, it’s dangerous.
Personally, I notice how ‘focused’ I become when doing something, that I shun out any other thing. For instance, when I am recording and designing a course to be uploaded on our website, a knock on the door is an immense distraction which I prefer not to answer. I just want to finish recording the videos, edit and upload them.
But what if the knock is a neighbour in need, or, even, my child, my wife, or any other person/thing that also deserves my attention?
This thought occupied my mind, and I think how we will later balance family, work, spirituality, friends, hobby, etc. is determined by how we do it now.
Life is multilayered. There are many things we need to learn how to simultaneously pay attention to. Waiting to finish one before focusing on another might be detrimental.
