One mistake people often make in this citadel of learning is not getting their timing correctly. The school resumes today — contrast to the end of the month you’ve projected in your mind— and this is the moment you are to start your learning because it is going to be a very long semester.

Of course, nobody is advising that you start reading the books from now on— I wish you could, though — at all. That is even the last stage of learning. You have to start from solving the minor tasks about your semester. When you do these, you will have fewer problems to deal with by resumption.

First, you have to know your courses and the topics they contain. This will give you the confidence that you are in control of your fate, even if you are scared to death. If you have zero knowledge about the course before, the first class will be totally incompletely incomprehensible to you and that will lead to a form disillusionment. How will you get to know about these courses? That’s easy. Talk to your seniors, tutors and friends. They will give you the confidence you need.

Then, drafting a plan for yourself is one of what I will call the prerequisites for the new semester. Some people just resume when people resume and go to class because it is time to. Identify your strengths and weaknesses, and focus on the new patterns you need to use this time around. You cannot utilize the same old method.

Above all, choose your courses wisely. Know the lecturers and the course contents to decide if they will be beneficial to your life and career. All these should be done before you step your leg on campus for resumption. Then, you will not be walking into nothing but a very fruitful semester.

Once again, happy resumption to all.

May we find the light that we seek.
